Stefan Duvnjak
Stefan is a Chartered Physiotherapist with an MSc in Physiotherapy (Pre-reg) from King’s College London with research in chronic pain and a BSc in Sports Science with International Experience from Bangor University with a particular focus on sports psychology. Having been part of a disabled sports community as a coach in the Czech Republic and working in Sports Coaching in London as a qualified gym instructor, Stefan later began his career in Physiotherapy.
He has done his clinical hours across the major London NHS hospitals and has subsequently worked at major London hospitals across various settings from outpatient through to intensive care and A&E as well as the community. He also has experience with a variety of nursing skills such as, wound management and care, subcutaneous injections, removal of surgical clips, and venepuncture.
Stefan has qualifications in acupuncture and medical dry needling as well as sports massage. He has a background of working across a breadth of patient groups including neurological, respiratory, cardiac, musculoskeletal, orthopedics (elective and trauma), and elderly care. For the last few years, he has been based in the community conducting home visits across these patient groups for the NHS and in the private sector as well as running his own Physiotherapy home visit company alongside this. As part of this he can assess properties, tailor advice and prescribe equipment to facilitate independence and minimise falls risks in the home whilst prescribing tailored exercise programmes than can be done from the comfort of one’s home.
This varied skillset and experience across various co-morbidities has allowed him to take a holistic head-to-toe approach and personalise treatments specific to the patient’s needs and goals. He is continuing his learning having recently completed a master’s module in physical assessment and advanced history taking and continuing to an independent prescribing course soon.
